christmas decor 2021
Here’s what’s trending for Christmas décor 2021. The big theme this year is pretty and nostalgic with a big emphasis on tradition.
Nostalgia
This covers many different decorating styles and colour palettes. Going back to family traditions and traditional Christmas decorations is what many of us are craving now! The pandemic still has a huge effect on what we do and how we live. Traditional red, green and white are the colours to choose.

Natural Greens
The trend for natural and sustainable is touching every aspect of our lives including even the way we decorate and celebrate the joy of Christmas. Evergreens and natural products and finishes are growing in popularity. Real greens have that natural beauty and smell divine but faux greens are much more practical! If you are using faux greens make sure they look real and are made from recycled or sustainably sourced materials.
Trees
Ornately decorated trees are still popular and looks like they are probably here to say for a while. Go mad. Handmade decorations are also popular from beautifully sewn decorations to mosaic, wire and glass – the choice and options are endless.
Snowy white textiles
Snow is a northern hemisphere thing but it is such a big part of the Christmas look – so you can drape chairs with white throws, add white loosely knit cushions to your couch to bring a touch of snowiness to your home.
Bling bling
The bling thing is big… Christmas this year can be as glitzy as you want it to be. This year you will see lots of pearly stems and chandelier crystals and anything that sparkles shines and adds an opulent feel! Silvers and golds will be big again this year and look so beautiful.
Soft neutral shades
If you are not a fan of the traditional red, white and green or bling is not your thing, then soft neutrals (and soft blush) shades are also a popular choice.
Cool neutrals and greys and lots of warm neutrals can be just perfect and create a classy, calm feel. Neutrals pair beautifully with greens are a perfect match for a natural and neutral Christmas! And just for fun you can add just a touch of muted red if you want.
