Sheerweave blinds are sheer perfection
SheerWeave roller blinds have become increasingly popular over the past few years – and it is easy to see why. They are the ideal solution for blocking out the sun whilst still letting in the view. Plus they have several other advantages as well.
Sheer roller blinds are advanced, versatile and sophisticated. There are a variety of systems to suit different needs and requirements as well as different fabrics to choose from.
What is a sheer fabric blind?
Sheer fabric is usually made from a thin, open weave fabric. It has a low opacity so that light can travel through the mesh of the fabric relatively easily.
These blinds are not meant to block out the light – blackout blinds are meant for that.
Sheer fabric blinds require minimal maintenance and only gentle cleaning if they become stained.
Roller blinds come in various levels of opacity. The more sheer (or thinner) the fabric the more light that can come through. In rooms where you still want a lot of light, a really thin fabric that is almost similar to a net or lace curtain is best. This won’t block out the light, but it will diffuse the sun’s rays and add some privacy.
A slightly thicker weave is best for rooms where you want to reduce the glare quite a bit for example offices or rooms where computers or screens are used.
An even heavier weave will provide more protection and is a gentle way to suggest shade in a room.
SheerWeave blinds are also an excellent way to protect your homes interior from the damaging effects of the sun’s rays – especially in South Africa with its abundance of sunshine.
Using SheerWeave blinds will prolong the life of wooden and soft furnishings as well as carpets and floors. And although these blinds may let the light in, they provide effective insulation keeping the room cool in summer and warm in winter.
